Can I access my Box-n-Go containers while they are in storage?
Of course! We understand that sometimes you put things in storage that you may need to access. This is why we offer FREE warehouse access to our customers. We just ask that you schedule an access appointment so that you don’t have to wait for us to retrieve your box. We’ll position your containers in a convenient and safe place for easy and drive-up access. Please note that your account must be current. Also, only a customer or a customer’s authorized agent may access the container. Please, do not forget your keys. When you are done, we will place your storage unit back inside our secure storage warehouse.If you want your unit(s) brought back to your house for home access, please schedule the re-delivery. Can I dispose some of my items at your facility?

There is no dumping allowed at our facility. However, we may be able to help. Inquire with our personnel at the facility and we will let you know the disposal cost.

Can we visit your Box-n-Go Storage facility to see what it looks like?

Absolutely! We’d love for you to visit our facilities. Box-n-Go takes pride in the fact that our facilities are clean, safe, and offer a secure environment for our associates and for your belongings. Please call us at 877-269-6461 and we will help you with directions.

I am using a La Carte Valet Service. Can I access my belongings at your facility?

Yes. We can pull your belongings from storage and make them available to you at the warehouse during normal access hours. A warehouse handling fee will apply. Please also note that advance appointments are required for this service.

Is there a fee for accessing my containers?

No. The access to your containers is FREE. If you are moving your belongings out at the facility, a cleaning/sanitation charge will apply.

What should I do if I lose my key?

Do not worry! We can help you cut your padlock. A valid Government issued photo ID matching the name on the account must be provided. This service is provided for a fee which will be added to your account.

What’s the difference between access hours and office hours?

During access hours, you can access your storage unit(s) which were brought to the access area based on your request (advance appointment is required). During office hours, your storage consultants are available to provide in-person customer service (like answering questions, selling supplies, accepting rental payments and so on).

When can I access my storage?

We are open for access Monday through Saturday (except for major holidays) and you can access your belongings during our normal warehouse. Please do not forget to give us the required notice before you come.

When I rent a Box-n-Go Storage unit, can I grant access to others, such as my wife or kids?

he access is restricted to customers and persons listed on the account as authorized agents. Should you want to add a new person to the list, or remove a person previously added. Please do so online or contact our customer service at 877-269-6461 and we will assist you with your needs.


Billing, Order Cancellation & Account Closure

Can I change the credit card used to pay for my account?

Changing your credit card for automatic payment is easy. Just call us at 877-269-6461. We will ask you to verify personal information to ensure you are the individual responsible for the account.

Can I change the date of when the rent hit my credit card?

Yes. We can add a certain number of days to your current billing cycle and the subsequent billing will be performed on your new due date. The number of days added is the days between the present due date and the date you want the due date to be changed to.

Can I get my storage fees billed automatically?

Of course. In fact, most people do. We can set up your account for automatic billing to a credit card of your choice. It’s simple, convenient and safe.

Can I put some of the charge on one credit card and the rest on another?

Yes. Just give us precise instructions on which cards to use and how much to charge on which card.

Can someone else pay on my behalf?

Yes, however a third-party payment authorization form must be endorsed and submitted along with photo ID.

Does Box-n-Go accept cash as a form of payment?

Yes. Our drivers can accept cash from you.

Does the credit card have to be in my name or in the same name as the order?

You must be an authorized user of the credit card. If someone else is paying for your account, a special form must be endorsed and submitted. Please call us at 877-269-6461 for more details.

How do I pay my monthly Box-n-Go bill?

Your monthly storage charges are due on your anniversary date, i.e. your original delivery date. You can choose to have the charges automatically charged to the credit/debit card of your choice or have the invoice sent to your billing/mailing address (subject to invoice mailing/processing fees). Automatic credit card payment is the best way to pay your bill, on time every month as it eliminates the need for mailing in checks and risk of the late charges.

How do I start paying for the Box-n-Go storage service?

We make the payment process simple! When you make the reservation, we will collect your credit card information. You may be charged the first month’s rent, delivery charge and cost of the packing supplies, if any, when you reserve and after you sign your contract with us. Every month thereafter, on the same day, we will charge your account the monthly rent.

For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover debit/credit cards, cash and check.

How much does Box-n-Go service cost?

Box-n-Go offers highly competitive rates and some of the best values in the industry. To view your rates and delivery charges simply enter your zip code on boxngo.com and your prices will be displayed or call us for a quote at 877-269-6461. Please remember there are no hidden fees and no truck rentals! We are confident you will find our prices to be much better than those of traditional self-storage, especially if you consider storing long term and can take advantage of our term discounts and specials. Plus, it’s easier, more convenient and less stressful.

If I cancel the order is there a cancellation fee?

As long as you cancel your order at least 1 business day in advance of your scheduled storage delivery, there are no cancellation penalties. If you change your mind and cancel your order past the above deadline, the delivery charges may apply and/or cancellation/rescheduling fees may apply.

Is my storage charge the same every month?

Once you sign your agreement we guarantee your rate for the first 6 months. We do increase the rates occasionally thereafter, however only by nominal amounts.

Is there a minimum I have to pay?

Yes. If you have your units delivered to you, you are liable for the delivery costs as well as one month rent based on the month-to-month plan rates. Should you take advantage of the special or promotional rates or term plans, the minimum payment liability is subject to the plan rules.

Is there a security deposit?

There is no security deposit for storage unit rental.

What do I need to do to close my account?

Simply contact us to set up the date when you will be moving out. If you would like to schedule a delivery of your unit to your new address, tell us your delivery ZIP code, the approximate date you’d like to schedule delivery and bring your account current. We need several days’ notice to schedule the redelivery, so please make sure to call in advance.

What does the delivery charge cover?

We charge a flat delivery fee and pick up for each delivery of our storage units to your location. Please enter your zip code at boxngo.com to see local delivery fees and service areas.

What if I am done storing mid-month do you prorate for unused days?

We do offer proration. Accounts set up for the discounted term rates and specials will be audited for fulfillment of such terms and conditions.

What payment options do I have?

On the day you start storing (the day of delivery) we will charge you for the delivery/pick up, first month rent and packing supplies, if you bought any. We accept cash, Zelle, check, money order or credit cards (Master Card, Visa and Discover).

When is my storage rent due?

Our rental charges are due on the anniversary (original container delivery) date. We offer a convenient automatic payment option using any major debit/credit card.

Do I need a permit?

In most cases no. Some localities require permits to have a unit on your property. Some homeowners’ associations have restrictions as well.

The truck can deliver/pick-up 1 of the larger (8’ to 20’) containers at a time or up to 4 Box-n-Go modular 8’ x 5’ containers at one time. Our trained & professional driver off loads each Box-n-Go container with a special forklift, allowing placement wherever they will be most convenient for you to load or unload. They can be placed almost anywhere (driveway, street or open-air parking space (for businesses and apartment complexes) and, of course, most anywhere on private property. Yes! Are there any items prohibited to be stored in the Box-n-Go storage containers?

Yes, the following are examples of items not allowed to be placed in our storage:

  • liquids of any kind
  • food or perishables

  • weapons, illegal substances, explosive devices or any inherently dangerous or illegal materials
  • jewelry, precious, invaluable or irreplaceable documents or property!

How big are the Box-n-Go storage containers?

Box-n-Go offers 5 convenient container sizes to meet almost any storage need:

  • Box-n-Go XL (Extra Large) Container: 20 feet in length x 8’ wide, suitable for storing the contents of a 3-4-bedroom residence, including furniture and appliances. This container can only be used for on-site storage.
  • Box-n-Go L (Large) Container: 16 feet in length x 8’ wide, ideal for a 2-3-bedroom residence or 3-5 rooms of items. This container can be used for on-site and facility storage, as well as for local moving.

What is the best way to pack my items inside the Box-n-Go storage unit?

When packing your storage unit, it is most important to have a well thought out plan in advance. Preparation can make all the difference in utilizing your storage unit to its fullest potential. You can refer to our packing tips for some creative and professional ideas.

What is the best way to protect my belongings from damage and keep the contents from moving around while the storage container is being transported?

While our staff is always cautious while transporting belongings, the best way to protect your belongings is to pack the contents of the storage container as tightly as possible, the weight evenly distributed. Treat packing of the container just like you would a truck (after all the unit will being transported via truck to our warehouse), minus the slippery metal ramp to navigate your way up and down. Remember that your containers are only inches from the ground. Place your heavier items on the bottom and lighter items on the top. Fill in as much empty space as you can and UTILIZE PACKING SUPPLIES like shrink wrap which can help to keep items from being scratched or dented! Use strong moving boxes in uniform sizes, break down items with removable legs. Things like moving blankets and using the appropriate boxes are the single most important factors in a successful move. Can Box-n-Go services be used for moving?

Of course! People do it all the time. In fact, we have a special moving program available that can save you even more.

Can Box-n-Go storage be used for nationwide moving?

Yes. However, this service is limited to some major metropolitan areas only. If you are moving to the destination that is not covered by our services, we can still deliver your belongings there with the help of one of our full-service moving partners. They can deliver your belongings to Hawaii as well as to Alaska.

Can I use Box-n-Go for moving locally?

Yes. You can use our 8′ x 5′ and 8′ x 16′ containers for the local moves withing our service area.

Do you offer moving tips or a moving guide to help me plan my move?

Box-n-Go offers a variety of tools to assist our customers in completing their move. The Help Center section of our web site provides numerous tips and guides to help you in your packing and moving journey.

How and when should I pay?

Our local moving service is pre-paid, including all transportation costs and 1 month container rental.

The long-distance moving payment terms are typically broken into 3 payments. The first payment can be made by credit card (fee may apply). The last two payments are in certified funds only.

How do I get a quote for my move?

You can fill out a request to quote form on our website or simply call us at 877-269-6461 and we will respond with a written estimate for your move.

How long will my items take to get to my destination?

Transit time depends on a variety of factors and will vary according to when and where you are moving, availability of delivery vehicles and the distance to the delivery terminal location. Specific details about transit times can be obtained from your Moving Consultant.

What if I don’t have an address where I am moving?

Although your situation may feel unique and is certainly stressful, we often deal with customers in your exact situation. If you need us to hold on to your belongings for any length of time while you figure out your situation, we can do this until you are ready for the final delivery. You can also come to the facility and access your belongings as often as you need for FREE by scheduling an appointment!

What if I need storage too?

Not to worry. Our containers can be a convenient place for temporary storage between your moves. Box-n-Go has a state-of-the-art, secure, centrally located storage facility to keep your belongings safe in between homes or even for long-term storage.

Why is Box-n-Go more convenient than a rental truck for the local moves?

Most do-it-yourself rental trucks are exceedingly expensive once you figure in the time needed to pack, drive to a new location and unpack. By the time you pay for miles, gas, insurance, logging and extra labor costs you will see that Box-n-Go moving option is quite competitive and extremely convenient. Additionally, the rental trucks are much more difficult to load/unload being so high off the ground. Carrying furniture and boxes up and down a ramp all day can make for a very stressful and dangerous move.

Can Box-n-Go load the container for me?

Yes. We can make arrangements with licensed movers to load your container.

Can Box-n-Go place the container in the garage or carport?

Yes as long as a minimum height clearance of 8′-6” is available. 

Can I be guaranteed the delivery day and time that I want?

Yes, once you schedule the delivery, your Box-n-Go containers will be delivered on the day and the time slot you have scheduled for. Although we cannot guarantee an exact delivery or pick-up time, we can guarantee a certain time frame for your appointment (premium service). Our driver will give you a courtesy call when he is on his way to your location.

Can I fit multiple containers in my driveway?

Yes. Most standard driveways are built for two vehicles placed side by side or 16’ to 20′ wide or so. This should allow placement of 3 to 4 Box-n-Go 8’ x 5′ containers positioned side by side or two larger units.

Can I have a drop-off and pick-up on the same day?

Yes, in most cases and depending on delivery schedules, special premium arrangements can be made to accommodate any schedule. Should you desire the same day drop off and pick up, please schedule that with our customer care representative at the time when you are scheduling your delivery appointment. Please note that since our service is based on the first come first serve principle, same day pick up appointments may require a longer than usual advance scheduling notice. Same day delivery and pickups are subject to additional fees.

Can I rent a dolly to help me load?

Yes. We can deliver a dolly to you with your container. We rent dollies for a fee.

Can I rent Box-n-Go storage units month-to-month or long term?

You can do either. We try and offer our customers as many convenient options as possible in order to meet their needs. As a result, we have month-to-month rates as well as term commitment discounts.

Do I need to be present when my Box-n-Go containers are delivered?

You or your (or your authorized agent) can be present, or you can opt for “unattended” appointment. Just provide us with placement instructions. Being present can benefit you in ensuring the container placement. Additionally, our diver will demonstrate to you the features of your containers. 
 
Having said the above, In most cases you do not need to be present for the delivery or pick up, unless your unit is behind the gate or the access to the unit is blocked. 

Do I need to give you notice when I move out?

When you want to schedule your container(s) to be delivered back to you for move out or picked up empty after on-site storage, please allow at least 7 to 10 business days to schedule your delivery/pick up. Please plan ahead accordingly. Your account must be up to date in order for your request to be processed.

If you plan on picking your belongings up at the facility, we only need a 1-2-business day notice to prepare your container(s).

Do you charge for delivery?

Yes, the charges are based on ZIP code or you may choose to bring your belongings to our conveniently located facility.

Do you charge for the delivery and pickup of the Box-n-Go storage containers?

We charge for the delivery/pick up and set up of the storage units each time you request delivery/pick up of your containers. The delivery/pick up fee is based on your zip code and you can see what it is by visiting our website.

Do you deliver and pick up on weekends or holidays?

How do I get started?

Simple. First decide on where you will be storing (on your property or inside our warehouse), then on the best unit size or combination and how many units you will need. Remember, we can deliver any number of containers you want us to. We will charge you only for the units that you are actually using.

How fast can I get a Box-n-Go storage unit delivered?

We can usually get an empty Box-n-Go storage unit out to you within 2 to 3 days. If you are in a situation where you need a unit delivered right away, just let us know.

Keep in mind that our schedules fill up quickly at times. We recommend that you order or schedule your container delivery as soon as possible to lock in the desired date and time slot.

How long do I have to load my container(s)?

How long do I have to load/unload my container(s) before you pick them up?

Take your time! Unlike truck rental with associated cost and time restraints, we want you to enjoy the incredible convenience of Box-n-Go Storage and load at your leisure. NO NEED TO RUSH! To help ease the stress of storage and moving we can leave the Box-n-Go storage container at your location for up to 5 days (depending on location and if units are placed on your property or on the street). You can keep your unit on your property, if that’s what you prefer, for as long as you like.

How long will my container stay at my location?

If you are planning on facility storage and the unit is placed on public property, you need to plan on pickup within 3-5 days or sooner. If the unit is placed on your property, it can remain there for as long as you wish.

How many Box-n-Go containers will I need?

Box-n-Go XL (Extra Large) Container: 20’ in length x 8’ wide, suitable for storing the contents of a 3-4-bedroom residence, including furniture and appliances.

Box-n-Go L (Large) Container: 16’ in length x 8’ wide, ideal for a 2-3-bedroom residence or 3-5 rooms of items.

Box-n-Go M (Medium) Container: 12’ in length x 8’ wide, ideal for a 2-bedroom residence or 2-4 rooms of items.

Box-n-Go S (Small) Container: 8’ in length x 8’ wide, ideal for a 1-2-bedroom residence or 2-3 rooms of items.

Box-n-Go Modular Container: 8’ in length x 5’ wide, modular in design, each suitable for 1-1.5 rooms of belongings. Up to 4 containers can be delivered or picked up at once so almost any size storage need can be accommodated. Remember that with this size container you have the most options. We can deliver an extra container to you and you will not pay for it unless you use it.

How many containers can I get at one time?

We can deliver 1 of our larger (8’ to 20’) containers at any one time and up to four (4) of 8’ x 5containers at a time; however, we’re able to deliver more units, if you need them. 

How much clearance do I need to place a Box-n-Go Storage container near my house or apartment?

We need a clearance of 8′- 6” in width and 8′-6″ in height. This is a smallest clearance requirements of anyone in the industry.

How much will this cost?

The price will depend on how much you are storing and for how long you will need storage. Our containers are priced competitively. We know it’s hard to predict how long you’ll need to store with us, so you only pay for the days that you store with us. Additionally, we offer long-term storage discounts.

I live in an apartment, where can you place the Box-n-Go container at my address?

Typically, when containers are delivered to an apartment/condo complex there are few placement options available:

  • street in front of the building
  • back alley or driveway
  • open air parking lot
  • parking garage (subject to height limitations)

Our units are street legal and can be placed anywhere the car can be parked legally and can remain there for a few days while you are loading them. Some municipalities regulate the street container placement and a permit may be required.

When the units are located in the back alleys, parking lots or parking garages or elsewhere on the building or association property you must first obtain the permission for such placement from your building management or landlord. Also, we require a minimum clearance of 8′-6 in width and 8′-6″ in height.

I need more than one unit, but do not have space to place them all? I have limited space available

Sure. When you are done loading your belongings, we will come back to pick up the full unit(s) and can drop off the empty ones at the same time.

Is there a security deposit?

There is no security deposit for rental. We collect the payment due right after your empty container is delivered to your home or business. This can be done with a credit card, Zelle or cash. Return delivery fees are charged to your account prior to delivery.

Not sure how many containers you will need?

Do not worry. With Box-n-Go storage services you no longer have to guess. With traditional (conventional) storage if you rent a certain room size and end up not using all of it, you will still be paying for it. With Box-n-Go storage service we can bring an extra container out for you. You do not pay for it unless you use it. This way you do not have to commit in advance.

What areas do you service?

Box-n-Go offers storage and local moving services to residents and businesses located or originating in the Southern California area. We can offer nationwide shipping of your belongings, however in partnership with reliable full service moving companies.

What do I need to do to have my container re-delivered to my home or other location?

When you want to schedule your container(s) to be delivered back to you for access or move out, please allow at least 7-10 business days to schedule your delivery. Our delivery schedules are based on reservations volume and are available on first-come first-serve basis. Please plan ahead accordingly. Your account must be up to date in order for your delivery request to be processed.

What is the minimum/maximum length of storage?

You can store as long as you like. We require a minimum payment of one month’s rent (based on a month-to-month rate). We can customize a moving or storage package to your needs and offer you prepayment savings on a long-term storage package and term discounts.

What times do you deliver the containers? Can I schedule a specific time?

We schedule the delivery appointments during the day (8 am to 5 pm) and have premium 4-hour time slot appointments available. Your sales consultant will help you choose the most convenient delivery time slot that is available. While we cannot guarantee or schedule a specific arrival time, as we have no control over the traffic conditions and the time each stop in route may take, the driver will call you with his estimated arrival schedule and, if you so request. 

What’s the delivery process like?

The storage containers are delivered to you on a flat-bed truck(trailer). Our professional drivers then use a forklift to unload the containers and place them in the most convenient location for you to load or unload. We deliver

Where will my belongings be stored and for how long?

You can store your Box-n-Go storage containers on your property or in our secure storage warehouse. You can use our units for one day or for as long as you need. Our storage facilities are secure, provide excellent protection from the elements, and are designed to accommodate the safe and secure storage of individual containers. You have the only key to your lock on your container.

Where will you place the Box-n-Go Storage units when you deliver them?

Box-n-Go Storage delivery equipment is designed to operate in limited access areas in order to allow placement of the units almost anywhere a car can be parked and of course most anywhere on private property for the most convenient loading/unloading, such as driveways (slopped or not), parking lots, alleys, etc. If you have a specific situation that you are concerned about, please call our storage and moving consultant to discuss the issue 877-269-6461.

Will the Box-n-Go container or delivery vehicle damage my property while placing my container?

Box-n-Go utilizes a specially designed all-terrain pneumatic tire forklift to maneuver the units safely on your driveway or any paved surface. We have been able to successfully deliver and place thousands of containers without resulting in any damage. Our professional delivery drivers always take the utmost care to deliver your container in a fashion that minimizes the possibility of any damage. Unfortunately, we are not able to determine the integrity or load bearing capacity of any surface. Also, please note that if you choose a non-paved surface placement, there is a possibility of some yard damage, especially if the ground is wet, or the soil is loose.

Can I purchase supplies without storage reservation?

Yes, we can sell you the packing supplies and boxes that you need, however we may not be able to deliver them to you right away. Please call us at 877-269-6461 to discuss your needs and delivery/costs and availability.

Do you offer locks, packing materials or dollies?

Yes, we have new locks available for purchase along with a full line of boxes and packing materials. We will be happy to deliver these items at no additional cost when we deliver the storage unit to you. We even have dollies available for rent which can be delivered to your home as well.

Does Box-n-Go sell packing supplies?

Yes. Box-n-Go offers a variety of boxes and packing supplies to help you move and protect your belongings. How can I return unused boxes for a refund?

Boxes and packing supplies can be returned in one of the following three ways:

  • Give the items to be returned to the Box-n-Go driver when your storage units are being picked up.
  • Ship the items back to Box-n-Go. You will be responsible for the return shipping costs.
  • Deliver the items to be returned to the Box-n-Go warehouse.
What is your refund policy?

We offer a full refund on all the unused items that are returned to Box-n-Go in the original packaging and in sale ready condition. The packing kits or bundles must be returned complete, no partials.

Am I required to purchase insurance coverage?

Purchasing insurance to protect your belongings is your option. Box-n-Go provides a $250/unit limited contents protection coverage at no cost to you! Should you want to obtain additional coverage with a greater coverage limit, we will be more than happy to offer you a greater protection limits coverage for a nominal monthly fee. Please keep in mind that many renter or homeowner policies allow the addition of self-storage to the insurance policy, often for very minimal cost, however with some higher levels of deductibles.

Can I get insurance for my belongings?

We are so confident about the safe & secure storage of your property, we automatically provide limited property protection for the contents of each container at no cost to you. If your belongings require additional valuation an optional premium property protection can be obtained for an additional charge. Please call to speak to a storage consultant for more information. Please examine your needs carefully. Start with your homeowner’s policy; normally stored goods are covered, whether on your property or elsewhere.

Do I need to get my own lock and key?

Box-n-Go can provide you with high-security locks and keys for your storage containers. For your security, we do not have or keep a copy of your keys, so please keep them in a safe place. Of course, you are free to provide your own locks.

How do I keep items from shifting during transit?

The best way to protect your belongings is to pack the contents of the storage container as tightly as possible, the weight evenly distributed. Treat packing of the container just like you would a truck (after all the unit will being transported via truck to our warehouse), minus the slippery metal ramp to navigate your way up and down. Remember that your containers are only inches from the ground. Place your heavier items on the bottom and lighter items on the top. Fill in as much empty space as you can and UTILIZE PACKING SUPPLIES like shrink wrap which can help to keep items from being scratched or dented! Use strong moving boxes in uniform sizes, break down items with removable legs. Things like moving blankets and using the appropriate boxes are the single most important factors in a successful move. Please be sure you read the packing and storing tips provided at the Help Center on this web site. Use common sense and you should not have any problems.

What if my items are damaged or stolen when the box is at my location?

You are responsible for the security of the unit when it is at your location. Check with your homeowner’s insurance to see if your items are insured while the unit is on your location.

Are Box-n-Go storage containers water-proof?

Yes! All our containers delivered to you for loading, unloading and packing are waterproof. Our larger containers are designed with a single piece steel roof. Our smaller containers are covered with heavy-duty, weather-resistant cover that has a single piece plastic roof.

Are my belongings covered while they are in storage?

Box-n-Go is not a licensed insurance agent and does not offer insurance. Box-n-Go Storage automatically provides you with a limited property protection coverage of $250 per storage unit. Additional property protection coverage limits can be obtained for an additional charge. (Please remember the contents may also be covered by your homeowner’s insurance.) This coverage is in place when your units are in our care. This coverage does not cover the units while they are on your property or if you request your units to be left outside of our warehouse.

Are the containers secure while at my location?

Absolutely! The door on each Box-n-Go unit is designed to close tightly and latch when closed. The hasp allows you to secure the unit with your own padlock. No employee will EVER ask for the key or combination to your lock. In addition, the units themselves are built like vaults – each is very heavy and requires specialized machinery to even move them.

Just as an added safety measure we strongly recommend that while the container is at your location, please make sure to keep the door locked when you are not accessing the container.

Do containers lock?

Yes. Each door of the Box-n-Go storage container is built with latches and a hasp for you to put your own padlock. For your security, we do not have or keep a copy of your keys, so please keep them in a safe place. Please note that ALL full containers must be padlocked prior to pick up and transit to storage warehouse.

Do I need to get my own lock and key?

Yes. Any padlock will work (we recommend using a minimum of 1.5″ steel padlock). Box-n-Go can sell you a new high-security locks for your storage containers. For your security, we do not have or keep a copy of your keys, so please keep them in a safe place. Of course, you are free to provide your own locks, and we also have locks for sale. Please note that ALL full containers must be padlocked prior to pick up and transit to storage warehouse.

Do you offer optional contents protection coverages?

How secure will my belongings be while at Box-n-Go storage warehouse?

Our storage facility offers a much higher degree of protection to your belongings than a conventional storage facility. With conventional storage methods, 90% of the break-ins that occur in their storage facilities are done by the people who have access to the facility. Once on the inside they are then able to freely roam the facility and therefore, can easily cut off a storage lock without anyone every noticing.

With Box-n-Go your belongings will be stored in a large commercial grade warehouse facility with thick concrete walls, insulated ceiling, a single point of entry and state of the art security system and 24-hour video surveillance, gated entrance and high-pressure fire-suppression (sprinkler) systems. Each Box-n-Go storage unit is secured with your own lock, and you are the only person to keep a key.

During the day, the warehouse is manned and monitored by our personnel. Only authorized Box-n-Go personnel have access to the main storage facility. Customers accessing their storage containers are asked to provide identification and must sign in before proceeding to the customer-access area.

The thick concrete walls and an insulated high ceiling provide for a cool and comfortable temperature for your belongings year-round. Our containers can “breathe” so moisture and excessive heat will not become trapped inside causing mold and mildew to grow. This feature provides an environmentally friendly space for your possessions. On top of it all you only pack the containers once – less handling means less lifting for you and less damage to your items.

Is the facility pest controlled?

Yes. We have enlisted the services of a professional pest control company to help us ensure the environment your belongings are stored in will be the very best and pest-free.

What are the containers made out of?

Box-n-Go containers are specifically designed and constructed to optimize your mobile storage experience. All containers are built exclusively for Box-n-Go and are assembled and inspected by our personnel before we deliver them.

Our 8′ x 5′ containers are built out of weather resistant exterior-grade plywood and dry lumber to provide a very stable, breathable and chemical free environment during the storing and transporting of your belongings. When the storage container is out of our warehouse for loading or unloading and packing, each container is also covered with a highly durable, heavy-duty, weather-resistant cover engineered to protect your belongings. This cover is impervious to rain but still allows the container to breathe because of its Velcro closures and strategically placed waterproof vents.

The larger containers (8′ to 20′) are made of metal with a single piece, “shoebox” style roof. These containers have special ventilation provisions and an anti-condensation coating on the roof.

All units are equipped with a hinged door opening and a heavy-duty latch system for your lock. In addition to the above, our containers are elevated about 4″ off the ground. This prevents the moisture (be it rain or sprinklers) from the ground from affecting anything inside the container.

All units are built to “breathe”. These ventilations provisions ensure moisture and excessive heat will not become trapped inside causing mold and mildew to grow. Thus, containers equalize with the environment around them. When a container is stored outdoors for a few days, the climate inside the container equalizes to the climate outside of it, preventing condensation. When you are finished loading the storage container, we will transport it to our warehouse. At this point the climate inside the container equalizes to its indoor environment. The same process repeats itself when we return the container to your house. This keeps your goods smelling just like they did when you packed them. The storage containers that are airtight develop condensation during this process because the temperature inside the storage unit changes but the water vapor in the air has nowhere to go, potentially leading to mold and mildew.

The process is the same as when your car develops fog on the windshield in the morning or during the rain. This condensation can damage your furniture.

What is the environment like inside the Box-n-Go storage facility?

Box-n-Go storage warehouse is a commercial grade, high ceiling concrete building. This construction provides for a cool and comfortable temperature for your belongings year-round. In fact, we have never seen the temperature inside the warehouse rise above 75°F even on the hottest summer days. Additionally, our containers are designed to “breathe”. Are items protected against damage or loss?

Yes. Our prices include $100 worth of protection per stored item.  We strongly recommend the purchase of additional protection coverage in cases where the replacement value of your possessions exceeds $100 per box/registered item.

Are there any additional charges?

In some cases, where we incur additional costs, there will be additional charges and fees. For example, when our crew has to wait while you finish packing your belongings. These fees can usually be avoided if you plan ahead of time.  Most importantly, make sure you are in your room during your scheduled delivery time. Additional fees are applicable for over the weight limit items (50 lbs) and on-demand delivery/pick up scheduling.

Are there any weight limits for A la Carte Valet service?

You will want to make sure your boxes or small items weigh less than 50 lbs.  Any items that are over the weight limits will be charged to your account as special care items.

Can I access my belongings?

Yes, you can access your stored items at our storage facility with a 2-business days’ notice and during normal business hours. There is a warehouse handling fee for this service.

Can I cancel my service?

Yes.  You can cancel your order any time, however, depending on when you do, there may be additional fees that apply. For example, if you cancel on the day of scheduled pick up or delivery, standard on-demand delivery fees for your address will apply. Also, please note that the packing kits and other materials purchased must be returned to us unused in order for us to provide a refund.

Can I change my pickup time?

Yes. You can change your pickup details online in “my account”. You can also call or email our main office anytime you need to reschedule.

Can I pull my items out of storage early?

You can. There may be fees applied for warehouse handling and/or redelivery unless you schedule redelivery on the bulk schedule of days as published on our site. Please schedule the return of your items in advance.

Can I purchase additional declared valuation protection coverage?

Yes.  You may purchase additional protection coverage when you make your reservation.

Can I request the Self Load drop off dates that work for me?

If you select Self-Load month-to-month services you can select any drop-off date, as long as you reserve ahead of time. If you select a pre-paid, discounted package, then the drop-off dates will be set as listed in the details of the package. 

Can I share my Self Load storage space with my friends?

Of course. In fact, this is one way to reduce your costs. Make sure to list your friends as authorized agents though. 

Can I store an item that cannot fit in a box or is not on the list of items?

Yes! We will accommodate all your moving and storage needs. Just let us know ahead of time what you have. Upon arrival, we will label all items you have and register them for you.

Can I store furniture or anything else that doesn’t fit in a box?

Yes. We can store almost anything you can fit in your residence, including bikes, trunks, rugs, refrigerators, shelves, futons, desks, filing cabinets, chairs and more!

Can I store items that won’t fit in a box?

Box-n-Go can store any item that you need. We store futons, trunks, plastic bins, furniture, desks, beds, refrigerators, microwaves, chairs, etc. Items such as TVs and flat screen monitors should be stored in their original boxes. If you don’t have the original box, you can purchase additional packing supplies such as bubble wrap or certain available boxes from us.

Can I store my bicycle, skis and other sports equipment?

Yes.  We can store your bike, skis, snowboard, or golf clubs.

Can I store my electronics?

Yes, just be sure to pack properly in the original boxes to secure your contents! If the original packaging is not available, our crew can help you pack for a nominal fee.

Can we use our own boxes?

For consistency reasons, we prefer and highly suggest that you use the boxes provided to you by Box-n-Go. Our Box-n-Go U boxes are specifically designed for students and come with a special storage discount. However, you can use other boxes for TVs, Printers, Monitors, Lamps etc… It is your responsibility to make sure your box is in good condition. If your box is NOT in good condition, our company will NOT be liable for damages if the box falls apart during the move. So don’t take any chances – use our economical and professional packaging products whenever possible!

Do I have to be present during A la Carte Valet pick-up/drop off?

Yes. If you are not able to, you can assign a friend.

Do I need to label every item I am storing and/or shipping?

No. We will do that for you! We will create a label for every item you have picked up, including your boxes.  We use the barcode labels to track your items in storage so that nothing gets lost. However, we do recommend you write your name on every box/item as a precaution.

Do my parents need to fly in to help me pack and load?

Not at all! With our A la Carte Valet service we pick up from your room. You just need to pack. Our Self-Load services offer easy loading convenience that requires minimal effort. We also offer loading service – professionals that will do the heavy lifting for you. 

Do you cover boxes that are not provided by Box-n-Go?

Yes. We will review the condition of your box upon pick up. Some boxes may not be sturdy enough. As a result, we cannot guarantee the integrity of such boxes during transportation and handling process. In these cases, we will need to re-pack your belongings. Also, some furniture items (like IKEA), may need to be disassembled for transit. We can help you with that. Additional handling fees may apply.

Do you have restrictions on the types of things that can be stored?

Do you re-deliver off-campus?

Yes. We pick and deliver both at the dorms and off-campus housing. Off-Campus locations must be within the same zip code as the campus itself for bulk deliveries. On-demand delivery can be scheduled for any location within our service area.

Do you sell boxes and packing supplies?

Yes.  We sell a packing kit that has been specifically designed for the needs of the students. Customers can modify the kit contents based on their specific needs. They can add or delete boxes or supplies. Purchasing our supply kit is not required to receive storage service. All supplies you purchase are delivered to your dorm.

How do I know how many boxes I will need?

Feel free to order as many boxes as you would like. If you have some left over, we will take them back for full credit during the pickup.

How do I know if my items will be safe?

Items are stored together in large, secure, breathable storage containers. Containers are stored inside a secure, controlled storage warehouse under 24/7 surveillance and security monitoring.

How do I know when I am registered?

You will be sent a confirmation email with your specific information. Please save this email for your records. If you do not receive it, please check your junk e-mail folder first.

We sell packing material if you need it. Packaging material is extremely important for the safe storage of electronics.

How do I schedule a delivery date?

All discounted pick/delivery dates and times will be posted on our site for your school. Of course, On-Demand delivery/pick up are available on any day.

How do I schedule a pickup time?

Your discounted bulk pick-up dates and time slots will be specified on the price page when you sign up for service. You will be able to schedule a pickup at the time you place your reservation. We also offer on-demand pick-up, which can be scheduled at your convenience.

How do you keep track of items, so they don’t get lost or mixed up with others?

Our crew will label and register each box/item picked up on a customer’s account. Once the items arrive at the warehouse, they are tracked using the unique number/bar code printed on the label. For added security, we attach several labels to each box/item.

How does the A la Carte Valet student storage service work?

You place reservation for the A la Carte service first. We ship the packing materials to you. We will then pick up your items from your apartment or dorm room and transport them to our secure storage facility. How far in advance should I order storage boxes?

You should plan your packing process based on your school’s scheduled pick-up schedules. Figure out how long it will take you to pack and order the boxes and supplies with the appropriate delivery speed.

How will I know the movers have arrived at my dorm?

When the movers arrive, you will receive a text message and/or a call letting you know they are outside your dorm/apartment. In most cases you will need to meet the movers and escort them up to your room.

If I live off campus, can you pick up my things?

Yes. We can pick up your things if you live within the same zip code as your college or university campus. If you live outside of the five-mile radius, you may be subject to an additional charge.

Is storing with Box-n-Go safe?

Yes! We work hard to assure you the highest levels of safety and security for your belongings. In fact, we have never experienced any theft or break-ins.

What can I put in storage?

What forms of payment do you accept?

What if I am unavailable for pick up/delivery?

If you are not around for a pickup/delivery, you can have a friend or roommate there. They must be authorized to sign for you. We are not able to do a pickup or deliver, if there is nobody to accept your belongings. A rescheduling fee may apply.

What if I don’t know my address for next year when I sign up?

If you are unsure where you will need your items delivered, just let us know when you find out.

What if I don’t know my next semester college address yet?

You can visit your account page over break and add your new address for re-delivery.

What if I need a different pickup/delivery date than the one listed for my school?

We can schedule an on-demand pickup/delivery for you for an additional fee.

What if I need to make changes to my account?

You may make changes to your online account at any time by logging in with your log in email and password.

What if I order a box kit with five boxes but only want to store three boxes?

You can store as many boxes as you need.  We will only charge you for the number of boxes we actually pick up. You can return the unused boxes you buy from us for full credit. 

What if I transfer to a new school?

If you need your items delivered to a new school, you will simply supply us with your shipping address to your new school.  We will ship the boxes to you via FedEx, UPS or USPS (shipping and handling fees apply for this service).

What if I want to store my items longer than the summer?

Yes, this is not a problem. We can store your belongings for as long as you require. 

What if my stuff doesn’t fit in boxes?

No problem. We can help you store or ship practically anything. We can send you a specialty box once we know the dimensions of your item or you can store the item by itself. We recommend giving us a call and our customer support specialists will assist you in placing an order.

What if one of my items is lost or damaged?

In the highly unlikely event that one of your items may be damaged, please contact us right away so that we can take care of it immediately. We will send a claim forms and instructions and may have a Box-n-Go representative come and take a look. Before filing a claim, please review our terms and conditions. 

What if the # of Items I store changes?

That is OK. We understand that your storage needs can change. We will accommodate the change and update your inventory accordingly. You are ONLY charged for the items you store.

What is a “bulk” A la Carte Valet pick up/drop off?

During your school move out/move in days we pick up/drop off belongings for many students. This is why we can provide these services for a deeply discounted fee. If your needs fall on different days, no worries. You can schedule on-demand pick-up/drop off for a reasonable fee. 

What items won’t be covered by the protection coverage?

We cannot provide coverage on anything that fails to meet our packing guidelines or items that are prohibited (hazardous or irreplaceable). If it is packed properly, we have you covered.

What storage and moving services by Box-n-Go can be beneficial to students?

You can use our storage and moving services for summer storage, study abroad storage and shipping services. We can also help you move locally or nationwide.

What storage/moving services do you offer for students?

We offer A la Carte Valet (storage by the box with in-room pick up) and Self Load Storage (via 8′ x 5′ storage container delivered to your location). We can also help you move locally or nationwide.

What’s included in a Box Kit?

Our Box Kit contains everything you will need for summer storage.  Kit includes: 5 student boxes (specialty Box n Go U boxes 23″x14″x17″), 1 roll of tape and 1 marker.

When can I pick up my storage?

You can pick up your storage any time during the year, or we can re-deliver it to you. Handling and delivery fees may apply.

When can I put my items in storage?

You can start storage with us anytime you need during the year. Just reserve online, email or give us a call and we will schedule a pickup all your items.

When do I pay for the service?

You will be charged for the packing kit and shipping during the order. You will pay for storage of your boxes/items after they have been picked up.

When should I order?

Whenever you want, however, keep in mind: scheduling pick-ups and re-deliveries is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. The earlier you order, the more likely you are to get your preferred date and time.

Where do I get labels?

When our crew comes to you to pick up your boxes and items, they will bring and attach the labels to each of your box/item.

Where will my items be stored?

Your Items will be stored inside large, breathable storage units, which are, in turn, stored inside a high security storage facility with passive climate control features, within driving distance from each campus we serve.

Why does Box-n-Go need my e-mail address and cell phone number?

Box-n-Go performs the majority of its communication with its customers via e-mail and text. It is extremely important to read the e-mails or text notifications Box-n-Go sends you since they will contain important information. E-mail addresses and phone numbers are kept confidential and not given out or sold to anyone.

Will you pick up my storage from my room?

Yes, we offer in-room pickup at no extra charge. as long as you are registered with us and your school’s administration will allow our movers into the dorms.  Our movers will come to your room to pick up your storage boxes and items.  We’ll attach labels to each of your box/item and complete the necessary paperwork.  The process should take no longer than 5 to 10 minutes.

How can I find out where the storage unit auctions are taking place?

You can find out through various sources where storage building auctions take place. Public storage unit auction in ca are required to post legal notices in newspapers. There are also web sites and auctioneers who all provide very limited schedules of self storage auctions. By using all these action storage sources it is possible to find out when and where all these auctions will be conducted. Contacting the different self storage companies will yield you the highest results.

How does the public storage auction work?

Be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to a scheduled storage unit auction. Before the auction storage starts, the mini storage auctions auctioneer will have a sign in sheet and a set of their company’s rules going over the terms and conditions of the storage units auctions. Most auctions are “live” or “verbal”. The sale will allow the storage facility to recoup some of their losses. Any profit over the actual amount owed on the unit is paid to the renter, but the winning bid seldom covers the past due rent. Cash is the acceptable form of payment and sales tax will be charged if the buyer cannot show a valid resale license and proper identification.  Storage locker auctions are very different then most types of auctions.  Usually you are bidding on the entire contents of a unit. Units or lots are usually viewed 1 by 1 with the viewing limited to the doorway entrance of the storage unit or container. The bidding starts after all bidders have had a viewing of the property. Bids sometimes start out as low as $1.00 and can proceed upwards with the property being sold to the highest bidder. Based on our experience average lots or units seem to sale for under $300.00. Don’t forget, the high bidder must remove all contents of the unit purchased within the time specified by the self storage facility. Facilities do not allow the use of their garbage cans or dumpsters and units are expected to be broom swept clean.

What are storage auctions?

As seen on A&E channel “Storage Wars” episodes when the renter of a self-storage unit can’t make the payments, the stuff inside goes up for grabs. What Treasures Might I Find? What can I expect to find if I buy storage units at an auction?

You really never know what you will find. Most storage shed auctions yield general household goods, furniture, electronics, clothing and personal records. Bidders do find money, jewelry, antiques and collectibles at these auctions. It is not uncommon to find someone’s whole household or business in a unit, with that in mind, you never know when you might stumble on someone’s life collection of who knows what!  Remember you are usually viewing the property from an open entrance into a storage unit or container; this means that boxes and plastics storage containers can yield anything. Some units are packed so tight that you won’t have the luxury of getting a view of the items that are behind what is blocking the entrance area.
