It is important to use a high quality permanent marker, like Sharpie, to mark all your moving boxes. While you can save money with another brand, there is always a risk that your marks will smear or be defaced during handling. this will lead to a great loss of time figuring out what is inside the box. it can even lead to the loss of the box and belongings inside it. Unmarked boxes are easy to misplace!
When marking the boxes, make sure to mark the sides and top of each box. We recommend using labels for better visibility and easy of use. Also, here are few pointers on what should be listed on each box:
- Your name
- A general description of the contacts of the box
- The shipment reference number (if your mover misplaces the box the reference number will help your box find it’s way back to you)
- The location the box should be placed.
