How to Access Your Box-n-Go Storage

Getting to your belongings is straightforward. There are three ways to access what we’re holding for you — pick the one that fits your situation and call us or sign in to My Account to schedule. If your container is at your home (storage at your property), you have access whenever you want it — no appointment needed.

Home Access — Redelivery to Your Address

The simplest way to get to your belongings is to have us bring them back to you. We redeliver containers anywhere in our Southern California service area, place them on the ground per your instructions, and come back to pick them up a few days later when you’re done.

Schedule redelivery at least 5 to 7 business days ahead during off-peak periods, and 7 to 10 business days ahead during peak season (typically late spring through early fall). We work on a first-come, first-served basis — when the schedule fills up for a given day, there’s nothing we can do to add a slot, so call early.

Delivery fees are based on the destination zip code — enter your zip on our website to see the rate. Payment for redelivery clears 24 business hours before the truck rolls. If you need any boxes or a hand truck rental alongside the redelivery, just let us know when you book and we’ll bring them with your container.

Once you’re done with your belongings, call us or sign in to My Account to schedule the return pickup. Same notice windows apply on the way back — 5 to 7 business days off-peak, 7 to 10 in peak season. The container goes back to indoor warehouse storage on the same account.

Box-n-Go offers larger container sizes too — same Home Access mechanics, more storage capacity per unit.

If your situation changes between the delivery and the return pickup — you decide to close the account, switch to a different container size, or move the container to a new address — call 877-269-6461 or sign in to My Account and we’ll work it out. Most plan changes can be accommodated as long as the schedule allows.

Facility Access — Visit Our Warehouse

Come visit your container at our warehouse. We pull your unit out of indoor storage and set it down on the ground in our access area, so you can drive right up and access your belongings at ground level. No elevators, no narrow corridors, no climbing.

Schedule in advance — noon the business day before your visit is the minimum. Requests after that may be declined. Once your appointment is set, your container can be ready as early as 10:00 AM, and you must finish accessing by warehouse closing time — see our business hours.

Only the account holder or an authorized agent can access the container, with valid government-issued photo ID. To let someone else pick up on your behalf, sign in to My Account and add them as an Authorized Agent before the appointment — they’ll need valid ID too.

Take a quick look before you open up. When we bring your container out to the access area, give it a quick once-over — check the outside for any visible damage, make sure your padlock is intact, and let us know right away if anything looks off. The same applies for A La Carte items pulled from the vault. Quick spot-check on arrival, then you’re good to go.

Lost your key? We can cut the padlock for a small fee and sell you a replacement on site, but we’ll need to verify you’re the account holder or an Authorized Agent with valid ID first. Let us know in advance so we can have a fresh lock ready when you arrive.

We keep a full complement of packing supplies on site if you need boxes, tape, or markers during your visit, and we can rent you a hand truck.

Leave the access area clean when you’re done. Items or trash left behind are subject to a clean-up fee, and our dumpsters aren’t available for customer use without prior authorization.

A La Carte Facility Access — Student Storage Retrieval

A La Carte student storage works differently from container storage. Your belongings are stored inside our secure vaults — large, indoor wood units holding inventory from multiple A La Carte bookings together. When you need access to specific items mid-storage, we have to sort through the vault to locate them and stage them for your appointment.

Schedule your A La Carte access 2 to 4 business days ahead. The notice window gives our crew time to identify your items by inventory label, pull them from the vault, and have them waiting in the access area when you arrive. A warehouse handling fee applies and covers the sorting and prep labor.

Like container facility access, A La Carte access happens during warehouse hours — appointments can start as early as 10:00 AM, and you must finish by closing time. Bring valid ID; only the account holder or an authorized agent can collect items. The access fee is per visit, not per item.

Most A La Carte customers don’t need mid-storage access at all — the standard flow is one pickup, indoor storage, one fall delivery. Mid-storage retrievals are available for when you genuinely need something before the return delivery.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Plans change. Here’s how to cancel or reschedule each access type without incurring fees.

Home Access (redelivery and pickup). Call by 2:00 PM the business day before the scheduled service to cancel or reschedule at no cost. Voicemail and email don’t count — we need a live confirmation. After the deadline, a cancellation fee applies; if the truck has already been dispatched, the full transportation charge applies.

Facility Access (warehouse appointments). Call at least 24 business hours before the appointment. Same-day appointments cannot be cancelled, and no-shows are subject to the same cancellation fee as a late cancellation.

A La Carte Facility Access. Because we sort and prep ahead of the appointment, A La Carte access cancellations need at least 2 business days’ notice to avoid the handling fee. Same-day or short-notice cancellations forfeit the handling fee.

To cancel or reschedule any access appointment, call 877-269-6461 or sign in to My Account. For the full cancellation and rescheduling rules across all services, see our full service policies.

How do I access my stored belongings?

Three ways. Schedule a redelivery so we bring your container back to your address (Home Access). Visit the warehouse by appointment to access your container on-site (Facility Access). Or, for A La Carte student storage, schedule a facility visit so we can pull specific items from the vault for you. Pick whichever fits your situation and call 877-269-6461 or sign in to My Account to schedule.

How much notice do you need to schedule access?

Home Access redelivery: 5 to 7 business days off-peak, 7 to 10 in peak season. Facility Access for containers: by noon the business day before your visit. A La Carte Facility Access: 2 to 4 business days, since we sort the vault ahead of your appointment. All scheduling is first-come, first-served — call early when the calendar is tight.

Can you cut my padlock if I’ve lost the key?

Yes — for a small fee, and we can sell you a replacement lock on site. Let us know in advance so we can have a fresh lock ready, and bring valid government-issued photo ID. We’ll verify you’re the account holder or an Authorized Agent before cutting.

Do you have packing supplies and hand trucks at the warehouse?

Yes. We keep a full complement of boxes, tape, markers, and other packing supplies on site, and you can rent a hand truck for your visit. If you want supplies delivered with a Home Access redelivery, just let us know when you book.

What are A La Carte vaults, and why does access cost extra?

A La Carte items are stored inside secure indoor vaults — large wood units holding belongings from several A La Carte bookings together. When you need access to specific items mid-storage, we have to locate them by inventory label and stage them for your appointment. The warehouse handling fee covers the labor to sort and prep your items ahead of your visit.

What happens if I miss my access appointment?

No-shows are subject to the same cancellation fee as a late cancellation. For A La Carte access, the warehouse handling fee is forfeited if you cancel within the notice window or don’t show up. Call 877-269-6461 as soon as you know you can’t make it — rescheduling is subject to availability.
