Box-n-Go Moving Services
Box-n-Go does moving. We also work with movers — full-service moving crews show up on our schedule through our exclusive partnership with MyMovingGuys, a licensed California moving company. So when you call us about a move, you can choose how it gets done: load it yourself in our containers and let us drive, hire the crew to do everything, or anything in between.
We’re not competing with traditional movers, and we’re not competing with truck rental companies. For some moves, hiring a traditional moving crew is the cheapest option. For some, renting a truck and doing it yourself comes out cheapest. We won’t pretend otherwise. What we offer is a different value: one stop for the whole move and storage sequence, the flexibility to take days or weeks instead of one rushed day if you’re loading yourself, and your things stay in one container the whole way — no transfer point where strangers shuffle them between trucks. Whether that value matters to your situation depends on the move. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t.
Below is every moving service we offer, grouped by the kind of move it fits. Local moves, long distance moves, full service moves, commercial moves, senior moves, moves that include a storage stop — each one with the details that actually matter. If you don’t find your situation exactly, call us. We’ve probably done something close.
One situation in particular is where we add the most value: moves that include storage. If your new place isn’t ready when you leave the old one, if you’re between leases, if you’re downsizing and need time to sort through what stays and what goes, if you’re a contractor who needs household goods out of the house during a renovation — your move has a storage stop in it. Most customers in that situation hire a moving crew, drive to a storage facility, hire movers again to retrieve from storage, and pay twice for the labor and trucks. With us, the same container holds your things through the whole sequence — load at the old address, store at our warehouse (or on-site), redeliver at the new address. One container, one team, one bill. This is what we’re built for.
Local Movers
Local moves are anything within our Southern California service area — LA County, Orange County, parts of Ventura, San Bernardino, and Riverside. Same crew, same trucks, same containers we use for storage. We deliver the container to your old address, you load it (or our crew loads it for you), and we drive it to the new address. Compared to a traditional moving company, the model has two advantages: you can take days instead of hours to load (the container sits at your house while you pack), and if your new place isn’t ready, the container can come back to our warehouse for as long as you need before it gets redelivered. Most local moves complete in one to three days from container delivery to final unload at the new home.
Same Day Moving
Same day moves work when our schedule has the capacity to deliver, load, transport, and unload in a single day. Best fit: small loads (apartment-sized, dorm-sized), local-only distances, and customers who have packed and prepared in advance. Call us with the details and we’ll tell you whether same-day is workable on the timeline you need. We don’t promise same-day in every situation — equipment availability, route logistics, and crew schedule all matter — but when it works, it works.
Last Minute Moving
Last minute moves are short-notice — sometimes 24 to 72 hours from first call to delivery. Same logistics as same day in many cases, just slightly more lead time. We’ll always tell you honestly if we don’t have the capacity; we won’t take a job we can’t deliver well. Last minute pricing is the same as scheduled-ahead pricing — no premium for short notice — though high-demand seasons (summer, end-of-month) have less flexibility.
Store on your driveway or inside our secure facility. Load/unload only once. Ground level access.
Apartment Moving
Apartment moves run their own logistics. Studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments are typically a single Flex or Small container’s worth of belongings. Apartment loading often happens in a parking lot or street parking spot rather than a driveway — we have equipment that handles tight spaces and stairs-only buildings. If your apartment complex requires a certificate of insurance before any moving company can work on the property, ask us when you call and we’ll handle it.
Household Moving
Household moving covers full-home residential moves of any size, from a one-bedroom apartment to a five-bedroom house. The container model fits the full size range because we offer five container sizes and customers combine sizes for bigger jobs. Most three-bedroom homes fit one Large (16′) container with room to spare. Four-bedroom and larger homes typically use an XL (20′) or a combination of Large plus a Flex for overflow. Pricing scales with the number and size of containers, not by an arbitrary hourly minimum.
Furniture Movers
Furniture is what most people are actually thinking about when they search “movers” — couches, beds, dressers, dining sets, armoires, appliances. Box-n-Go’s container model handles all of it. Loading happens once at the old address, the container stays sealed during transport (less handling, less risk of damage), and unloading happens once at the new address. Customers who don’t want to load themselves engage our full-service loading crew (see Full Service Moving below) and have furniture handled professionally.

Long Distance Moving
Long distance moves go anywhere in the continental US. Local pickup happens on our own trucks in Southern California; long-haul transport happens through partner carriers we’ve worked with for years. The container is the move vehicle for the whole trip — loaded once at the old address, sealed, transported, and unloaded once at the destination. No transfer points where things move between trucks. Less handling means less breakage and a more predictable timeline. Most long-distance moves take 7 to 14 days door to door depending on origin, destination, and carrier schedule.
Two honest limitations to know about. First, long distance container service is limited to major metro areas — origin or destination outside a major metro often can’t be served on our container network, and we’ll tell you that on the call. Second, container long-distance pricing is by weight, and the containers themselves are heavy. The weight tare adds cost, so a container long-distance move is often at a premium compared to a traditional full-service mover. The benefit you’re paying for is that nobody else touches your belongings between origin and destination — same container, same lock, no transfer point. That matters to some customers and not to others.
If lower cost matters more than the no-touch model, we can refer you to third-party full-service movers we work with. They use standard moving trucks instead of containers, the price is often lower for long distance, and your things get handled by professional crews at both ends. Different model, different trade-offs. Call us with the route and the inventory and we’ll quote both options so you can compare.
Long distance moves often include a storage stop — your new place isn’t ready yet, or you’re closing on one date and the truck is arriving on another. The container can sit at our warehouse or on the destination property until you’re ready. No second storage rental, no second mover at the storage point.
Cross Country Moving
Cross country moves are coast-to-coast or close to it — California to the East Coast, California to the Mountain West, or longer routes. The container model fits cross country particularly well because there’s no transfer or shuffling between regional crews. The container that gets loaded in California gets unloaded at the destination on the other side of the country. We coordinate the timing and the carrier; you handle the loading and unloading or hire our crew to do it.
Out of State Moving
Out of state moves are anything that crosses state lines — long distance and cross country both qualify, but customers often search “out of state movers” specifically. Same service applies. We pick up in our Southern California service area and deliver anywhere in the US through our partner carrier network. If you’re moving from out of state into Southern California, call us — origin-to-destination coordination through the same network works in both directions.
Interstate Moving
Interstate is the formal term for what most people call out-of-state or long distance moving. It means the move crosses one or more state lines and falls under federal DOT regulation. Our long-distance partner carriers hold the required DOT and FMCSA authorities to operate interstate; the regulatory side is handled. From the customer’s perspective, interstate moving is the same service as long-distance moving — different keyword, same logistics.
Nationwide Moving
Nationwide moving means we serve any origin or destination in the continental US through our partner carrier network. Hawaii, Alaska, and international are not in our service area. Within the continental US, the network covers every state. Some destinations have more carrier options than others — rural areas with limited freight service take longer — but we can quote nationwide.

Full Service Moving
Full service means we handle everything — packing, loading, transport, and unloading. Box-n-Go’s full-service moving runs through our exclusive partnership with MyMovingGuys, a licensed California moving company (Cal-T 0191190). They handle the labor; we handle the containers and transport. One transaction, one schedule, one point of coordination. Customers choose full service when they’re recovering from surgery, moving an elderly parent, working a job that doesn’t allow time off, or simply prefer to outsource the physical work. Pricing is by the hour for local moves, by quote for long-distance.
Packing Service
Packing is the step before loading — boxing, wrapping, padding, and labeling your things so they survive the move. MyMovingGuys crews handle packing as a standalone service or as part of full-service moving. Packing is usually done the day before loading (sometimes the same day for smaller jobs). Materials — boxes, tape, paper, bubble wrap — can be supplied by the crew or by you. If you’ve packed yourself but want professional help with the fragile items (artwork, dishes, electronics), partial packing is an option.
Moving Labor
Moving labor is loading and unloading help without the rest of the move. You’ve already arranged the container or truck; you just need bodies for the heavy lifting. MyMovingGuys provides labor crews for loading at the origin, unloading at the destination, or both. Typical job runs two crew members for two to four hours for a local apartment, longer for larger homes. This is the same crew that handles full-service moves — same training, same equipment.
Hourly Movers / Hourly Moving
Hourly is the pricing model for most local labor and local full-service moves. You pay for the crew time you use, with a typical two-hour minimum. Hourly works well when the scope is hard to predict ahead of time — moves with lots of decisions in the moment, household sorting, or partial loads. For moves where the scope is clear in advance, flat-rate pricing (below) often costs less.
Flat Rate Moving
Flat rate is a fixed quoted price based on the inventory and route. Best fit: moves where the scope is well-defined, the destination is known, and there’s a clear inventory list. Local moves between two specific addresses with a known inventory often quote flat-rate; long-distance moves nearly always do (the carrier network operates on flat-rate routing). Flat rate gives the customer cost certainty up front; hourly gives flexibility on the day.
Affordable Movers / Cheap Movers
The cheapest moving option in our service mix is self-loading. You rent the container, we deliver it, you do the loading yourself, we transport. No labor charge from us, no labor charge from a moving company, just the container and the transport. Self-load is consistently less expensive than full-service. The trade-off is the time and effort you invest in loading. Customers who want the lowest moving cost go self-load; customers who want the easiest experience go full-service. Both are available.

Commercial Moving
Commercial moves cover offices, retail spaces, restaurants, medical practices, and other business locations. The logistics are different from residential — moves usually happen after business hours or on weekends, the load typically includes office equipment and records rather than household goods, and the timeline often runs over a single weekend rather than a single day. We coordinate with the business’s operations schedule so the move doesn’t interrupt revenue.
Office Moving
Office moves are the most common commercial move type. Desks, chairs, files, IT equipment, server racks, conference room furniture. We deliver containers to the old office, your team (or our crew) loads on a schedule that fits operations — usually starting Friday evening with the goal of being unloaded and reset by Monday morning. For multi-location relocations or moves with sensitive equipment (servers, lab equipment, retail POS systems), the schedule expands and we coordinate accordingly.

Senior Moving
Senior moves cover downsizing transitions, relocations to assisted living, family reunifications, and estate moves. The work is different from a standard household move. Often there’s significant sorting happening alongside the moving — what stays, what goes to family, what gets donated, what goes into storage. Storage is almost always part of the picture in a senior move — the new place is smaller than the old place, and decisions about what to keep take time. The container holds belongings during the sorting period, and we redeliver only what the family ends up keeping. Timelines stretch over weeks or months rather than a single day. The crew approach is different too — slower pace, more patience, more communication with family members coordinating from out of state. Box-n-Go has handled enough of these moves over the years to know how the work actually unfolds, not just how a logistics flowchart says it should.
Military Moving
Military moves run on PCS timelines and deployment schedules that civilians don’t deal with. Short notice is common. Family relocations to new bases happen on dates that aren’t negotiable. We offer discounts and timeline flexibility for active-duty service members and their families. Ask about military pricing when you call. The same network that handles civilian long-distance moves handles military relocations; the difference is the scheduling flexibility and the discount.

Moving with Storage
Moving with storage means the move includes a storage stop in between — your old place is empty before your new place is ready, and you need somewhere for your things during the gap. Most customers use a separate storage facility plus a separate mover plus separate logistics to bridge each transition. With us, the same container holds your things through the whole sequence. Load at the old address, store at our warehouse (or on-site at the new address), redeliver when you’re ready. One container, one bill, one team across the whole transition. The gap can be hours, days, weeks, or months — no maximum.
Moving Containers
Moving containers are Box-n-Go’s core product. The container is sturdy weatherproof construction, lockable, sized for one to four rooms of belongings depending on which of the five sizes you choose. We deliver it to your address, you load it (or a crew loads it) on your schedule, and we transport it to the destination. The container doubles as storage if you need a pause between the load and the unload. Customers searching for “moving containers” are looking for this model specifically — load once, transport in the container, unload once. That’s what we do.
